University of Cape Verde (Uni-CV) opens University Center in the Brava-Fogo Region
Nova Sintra, October 7, 2023 - The University of Cape Verde (Uni-CV) is expanding its presence in the Brava-Fogo Region with the opening of a new University Hub at the Uni-CV Integrated Resources Center in São Filipe, on the island of Fogo. This initiative aims to provide access to quality higher education for students in the region, offering two degree training offers for the 2023/2024 Academic Year.
The two degrees offered are:
Degree in Geology with two aspects:
Volcanology and Risks: This course focuses on the study of volcanoes and the risks associated with volcanic activity, preparing students to understand and manage situations related to volcanic eruptions and other geological events.
Applied and Environmental Geology: This strand is focused on the application of geology to address environmental and sustainability issues, preparing students to contribute to the preservation of the environment and the sustainable management of natural resources.
Degree in Agronomy with two aspects:
Plant Production: This course focuses on plant cultivation, covering sustainable agriculture techniques, crop management and plant genetic improvement.
Animal Production: This aspect addresses the creation and management of animals for the production of food and other products, including issues related to animal health and sustainable livestock farming.
